RESEARCH AND LIBRARY
Researching the Berlin Wall, its history and the history of the people in both the East and West who suffered because of it – or who helped to sustain it - is an important task of the Berlin Wall Memorial. To do this the relevant facts have to be collected, organized and made accessible to the public.
The Research and Library Department is responsible for planning and conducting research projects and for curating and maintaining the memorial’s permanent exhibitions. The memorial’s library currently contains more than 1,500 volumes. It is primarily a service library for the staff and is generally not open to external users.
