An important task of the Berlin Wall Memorial is to conduct research on the Wall and its history. The focus is both on the people in the East and West who suffered because of the Wall as well as on the people who contributed to its existence. To be able to present this research to the public, facts have to be collected, organized and documented. This work is carried out in the memorial’s Research and Documentation Department.
