Poster exhibition

Poster exhibition - Understanding the Border The poster exhibition "Understanding the Border. The Berlin Wall, 1961-1989" uses Infographics to present in-depth information about the Berlin Wall. It provides both detailed and interior views of the border fortifications. It also shows the location of the border around West Berlin, the places where border troops were stationed and the sites where people died at the Berlin Wall. The infographics are accompanied by short explanatory texts, biographical stories, historical photographs and quotes from oral history interviews. The exhibition demonstrates the uniqueness of the Berlin Wall while raising questions about borders in general and their function.

The exhibition was on display until September 2017 at the visitor center of the Berlin Wall Memorial.
