WATER AND BORDER STORIES IN DIVIDED BERLIN

The moderated boat tour travels on the Spree through the east of Berlin. As you pass between Jannowitz Bridge and Rummelsburger Bucht, you will get an impression of the East German border fortifications, how they were built and what impact they had. A tour guide from the Berlin Wall Foundation describes the historical sites of divided Berlin, most of which are no longer a visible part of the cityscape. You will hear stories about escape attempts on the Berlin waterways and learn about the people who died.
