2002 | CHAPEL OF RECONCILIATION IN THE FORMER BORDER STRIP

Photo: Berlin Wall Foundation / Christian Jungeblodt

The Chapel of Reconciliation stands on the site of the destroyed Church of Reconciliation. Since the construction of the Wall, the church was located in the middle of the border strip until it was blown up by the GDR in January 1985. The tower cross has been preserved during the demolition and is today located in the memorial area. In the Chapel of Reconciliation, devotions for the victims of the Berlin Wall take place.
